Internal audits

Internal auditing is a means of taking your business forward and helping you to evaluate both the business and its processes to ensure you are continually improving. It is also a key part of any management system as well as being a requirement to most standards.

If you are looking to improve your internal controls and operations, we can provide independent and objective assurance - reporting to senior management to a mutually agreed timeframe with full reports and action plans.

External auditing

External auditing is usually advised when you experience one of two scenarios. Either your business is looking for new suppliers/contractors and you're finding it challenging to source information about their performance or you are having issues with a supplier or contractor such as a recent incident with a product or service they are delivering.

In either events, we provide external auditing services. This involves us conducting a review of the supplier and study their working practices - do they meet industry regulations? Do they adhere to health and safety standards and/or do they follow correct manufacturing processes?

External audits can take many forms but the most common are system, process, product and compliance audits. When we conduct a construction site audit for example, we will look to assess the health and safety processes adopted on site in conjunction with legal requirements and industry best practice. It is a proactive approach and may uncover areas where procedures are not followed, and improvements can be made.

Should my business look to undertake both internal and external audits?

Not only is it best practice to monitor your business for continual improvement but also to evaluate your suppliers and contractors for their performance as this has an impact on you.
