Training

Whether you need a steer on initial or ongoing health and safety training - from risk assessments to manual handling. Talk to us.

Training

All business owners are responsible for ensuring that their employees and those working under them can fulfil their roles safely and with no risk to health. As part of that responsibility, they must provide their team with the necessary training to enable them to work in a safe environment, armed with clear instructions and the right information.

The amount of health and safety training needed should be proportional with the level of risk and this is where we come in; we can help you assess the degree of training required and create bespoke courses tailored to the needs of your business.

What about those with specific training needs?

We can help you establish a training structure for those with specific requirements.

Areas where you may need to consider training include:

  • Induction training - new members of staff need guidance on working safely so need to be aware of emergency arrangements as well as safety rules and regulations.

  • Supervisors/Management – ensuring those with supervisory and management responsibilities are aware of the requirements of the role regarding keeping their staff safe.

  • Employee/safety representatives - ensure they have adequate training for their prescribed responsibilities.

  • Refresher training - may be necessary where skills need updating.

Need help with risk assessments?

We can undertake key area risk assessment for you and once specific risks have been identified, work with your staff to ensure they are trained in how to undertake them themselves. This is particularly important if any part of the working environment is deemed dangerous. You need to provide adequate training for those who are undertaking risk assessments as well as those working under them to ensure they understand the content.

Keep abreast of any changes to working practices/systems

Some roles need specific training and you have a legal requirement to provide that training. This also applies to any areas where there is a change to working practices/systems whether that is the introduction of new equipment for example or new technology, you need to consider the health and safety implications and inform your staff.

Environmental awareness training

The training we can provide raises awareness of the challenges the environment now faces. It will inform both staff and management of the need for better balance and how the use of resources can have an impact on the environment. The training covers such key points such as reducing the carbon footprint, minimising waste and recycling where possible.
